Composer, Mitar Subotic – Suba



Started his successful music carier at the beginning of 80s in our town under the name of Rex Illusivii. Soon afterwards came his first record “Disillusioned”. He wrote often prized music for dozen theatre projects in Novi Sad and Subotica, was given UNESCO prize for the promotion of culture and in a shortwhile got the reputation of an outstanding author of new music and the producer who created the sound of some of the most respectable Yugoslav rock and pop gruoups. After occasional working visits to Paris and Sao Paolo, at the beginning of 90s he settles in this Brasilian town and makes fruitful carier of author and producer of local rock and new music as well as international. His last CD “Sao Paulo Confessions” was published last autumn by the Belgium music house “Crammed discs” and was welcomed by both critics and music lovers.Now, when bed incident took its toll, Suba`s creative and life energy and its remembrance, audio and other, stories yet to be told and written, represent a challenge which is certainly going to attract those more skillful and better. Before the rest, like us, there is a void, but as such the missing image gives way to a deed as a fulfilment of an important artistic adventure whose outlines would be growing as time goes by and become clearer and more mature.
